Emily, Austin, and their families made the trek out from Tennessee for an epic all-in-one wedding trip and vacation. The Tetons are hard to beat when it comes to both getting married and exploring the outdoors in one trip, so it’s no surprise that most of our couples are from the south, midwest, and east coast. Most of them will come here once, fall in love with it, and know they need to come back to get married and explore the area more. The Tetons and Jackson Hole have a way of sinking their claws into you and bringing you back for the rest of your life… which is not a bad problem to have!
We arrived at their rental house in the morning and captured them getting ready before it was time to head to the National Park. Everyone was buzzing with excitement and a few nerves for the day ahead.

Ceremony at Mountain View Turnout
Once everyone was finished getting ready it was time to head over the pass and into the park for the ceremony. Emily and Austin drove in separate cars because Austin’s first look at Emily was going to be down the aisle.
Austin couldn’t hold back the tears when he saw Emily walking down the aisle. His father officiated which was super special and we always recommend having someone in your group officiate when possible. Emily and Austin exchanged touching personal vows and then sealed the deal with a ring exchange and a first kiss.

Family photos
After the ceremony they gave celebratory hugs to everyone and took in the moment before we hopped into some family photos. It’s hard to beat a Teton backdrop for family photos!!

A few photos and the marriage license
After family photos we snapped a few photos of Emily and Austin and then a few of their family members signed the marriage license to make things officially official. Everyone also said goodbye to the string players that played before and after the ceremony. String players are always an amazing addition to a ceremony!

String Lake
From there the families headed back to the rental house to get ready for dinner, and we headed with Emily and Austin to a few more spots to get some more beautiful photos. The first spot was String Lake, where you can find a great combo of pine trees, fall colors, and water (plus the Tetons of course!).

Cascade Canyon
From String Lake we headed to Cascade Canyon which is another gorgeous spot on the inner park loop. It offers one of the more unique views with a big canyon that’s between the Grand Teton and the northern part of the mountain range.

Big Mountains Little People
On our way to Schwabacher Landing we stopped at a spot that we call a “wall hanger” spot or a “big mountains little people” spot. Although the Tetons are super dramatic and massive in person, there’s only a few spots in the park where you can do them justice with the camera (and this is one of them!).

Schwabacher Landing
It was then time to head to one of the biggest crowd favorites… Schwabacher Landing. The photos from this spot always speak for themselves and there’s a reason it’s one of our couples’ favorites (especially in the fall and in June).

Mormon Row
After Schwabacher we had time for one more spot before it was time to head back to the rental house for the dinner reception. We chose to do Mormon Row, which is another favorite in the fall and in the evening. Emily and Austin busted out the cowboy/cowgirl hats near the end which made for some great ‘western’ shots!

Dinner and Dancing
We headed back over the pass to their airbnb where the rest of the crew and a private chef were awaiting their arrival. Their families cheered as they walked in and handed them a drink as Austin’s father said a toast.
Before dinner began, Austin and Emily did their first dance and then Austin did one with both of the mothers. And then to everyone’s surprise, Emily’s grandmother started busting out the moves and everyone eventually joined in. It was such a special moment that we were so grateful to be able to capture for them! There’s numerous moments each year that bring a tear to our eye and remind us why we do what we do.
After the dancing was done the group enjoyed an insanely delicious home cooked meal from Chef Maggie of Artisan Chef. We’ve been lucky enough to have a few of her meals (including on this day, thank you guys!!) and her food is pretty out of this world. Having her cook you and your group a meal at your airbnb is super hard to beat on your day.
After dinner Emily and Austin cut their cake and then it was time to leave the group be and say our goodbyes. What a special day for everyone in the group and we’re so grateful that they chose us to capture it. Congrats to Emily and Austin, may their marriage be filled with boundless adventures and laughs!
