Emily and Austin came out from Tennessee to have an epic elopement trip in the Tetons where they could be present with each other on their wedding day and explore everything the area has to offer on the rest of their trip.
One of the best parts about eloping in Jackson Hole is that you can make a bigger vacation out of it and see some of the best scenery and wildlife that the lower U.S. has to offer!
We showed up to their lodging in The Aspens neighborhood in Wilson (one of our favorites!) and captured them finishing getting ready. Austin got ready downstairs and Emily upstairs, because they did a first look shortly afterwards and didn’t want to risk seeing each other.

First Look
Once they were both finished getting ready, we got Austin set up for the first look in a grass area nearby that had beautiful Aspen trees in the background. The first look was adorable and Austin literally gasped when he saw Emily.

Ceremony at Mormon Row
From their lodging we headed to Mormon Row North for their ceremony. The vast brown field was gorgeous and there was a herd of bison nearby that got to witness the ceremony (if only they had opposable thumbs and could sign off as witnesses on the marriage license!)
Matt ended up officiating the ceremony. When it’s just the couple or a small group, Matt is able to officiate for our couples free of charge if they wish, and if they choose to do this then Lauren shoots all of the photos during the ceremony. Both of us shoot photo during the ceremony if our couples choose to hire an officiant or do a self-run ceremony.
Emily and Austin exchanged touching personal vows and then sealed the deal with a ring exchange and a first kiss!

Photos at Mormon Row
As soon as the ceremony ended, the bison started to move much closer to us. We stepped back so we weren’t too close, and then watched in awe as the entire herd walked right through where the ceremony happened moments earlier.
We snapped a few photos of Emily and Austin together and then a few individual photos before it was time to move on to some other spots.

Schwabacher Landing
From Mormon Row we bounced over to Schwabacher Landing to take advantage of some stunning fall colors. The water at Schwabacher in combination with the colors makes it one of the most beautiful spots in the park. There’s some spots there that can be a zoo, but if you know where to go you can escape people very well which makes it even more special!

Cake and more epic photos
After Schwabacher we headed to Glacier View Turnout for some cake and some more stunning photos. Glacier View is a spot that we don’t always recommend to couples for their ceremony (due to its close proximity to the main highway) but it’s a spot that makes for some spanking good evening photos.

Final photos downtown
Emily and Austin had a dinner reservation at a nice restaurant downtown, so we headed that way and snapped a few more photos at the antlers and the Cowboy Bar before their dinner.
After getting the final photos it was time to send them on their way to dinner and say our goodbyes and well wishes. These two were such sweethearts and we’re so grateful that they chose us to capture their elopement day! Congrats to Emily and Austin, may their marriage be filled with boundless adventures and laughs!
