Andrew, Chandler, and their group made the trek all the way out from Michigan for an incredible trip and wedding day in the Tetons. They rolled the dice a little bit with a mid to late October date, but ending up getting lucky with the weather. It’s always a small gamble this late into the fall, as it’s not uncommon for snow and frigid temps to begin hitting the area.
The whole group was staying at the Elk Country Inn, and we showed up late morning to capture some getting ready photos before heading into the park. This ended up being where their dinner reception was in the evening which worked out great and was super convenient for guests.

Ceremony at The Wedding Tree
Once the group was ready to roll, we headed to The Wedding Tree for the ceremony. The snowcapped Tetons made for a gorgeous backdrop and the air was surprisingly still. The Wedding Tree can get a little breezy in late fall but we got super lucky on this day with calm air and warm weather.
Chandler did an adorable first look with her father before the ceremony and then he walked her down the “aisle” as the ceremony began. One great thing about The Wedding Tree is that the trail leading to the tree is a makeshift aisle that’s perfect for a processional.
Andrew and Chandler’s close family friend officiated the ceremony which was super special and the two of them exchanged touching personal vows with each other. Their adorable labs were also in attendance which is another huge perk of The Wedding Tree. If you want your furry friends to be there during your ceremony it’s possible at The Wedding Tree and unfortunately not possible for a ceremony in the National Park. After the first kiss Andrew and Chandler took time to give celebratory hugs to all of their family and friends that made the long trip out to celebrate their love.

Group and Family Photos
Once they were done with celebratory hugs and taking in the moment, we captured a photo of the entire group together (a must in our opinion!) and then photos of different groupings of family and friends.
A pre-made photo list of all the groupings is a must and helps us move so much faster through family and group photos! This is something we always help our couples with and Matt helps wrangle people and get them on deck while Lauren shoots the photos.
We also needed to grab a few photos of the two of them with their puppers of course!

Couples Photos at The Tree
After group photos the group headed back to town to get ready for the reception and we captured some couples photos and individual photos of Andrew and Chandler at The Tree. It was a gorgeous afternoon and the fresh snow on the peaks was showing off.

Mormon Row
From The Wedding Tree we headed to Mormon Row for more couples photos on the way to the dinner reception. Mormon Row is a spot that’s hard to go wrong with, especially in the fall because the vast brown field is beautiful and is a perfect juxtaposition to the towering peaks above.

Reception at Elk Country Inn
Once we were done at Mormon Row it was time to boogie back to Elk Country Inn for the dinner reception. The reception kicked off with first dances and a couple speeches from family and friends. After dances and speeches the group ate a BBQ dinner and unwound after a long exciting day.
Instead of a cake cut, Andrew and Chandler split a cupcake and cheersed some Busch Light. Then it was time to make things offically offical by having their officiant and friends sign their marriage license.

Cowboy bar and the antlers
Andrew and Chandler were tired and about ready to hit the hay, but decided they were still up for a few final photos in front of the Cowboy Bar and The Antlers. We walked a couple blocks to the town square and snagged some photos of the two of them in front of the iconic antlers and the neon lit bar.
From there it was off to bed and the rest of their trip, so we said our goodbyes and thanked them again for choosing us to capture their special day and for them and their group treating us like family. Congrats to Andrew and Chandler, may their marriage be filled with boundless adventures and laughs!
