Christina and Jonny came all the way out from Florida to throw a dang good wedding celebration on July 4th! Christina knew that she wanted to get married in the Tetons on the 4th, she had a vision, and she made it happen!
They ended the night with a spectacular catered dinner and a sparkler surrounded first dance while fireworks exploded in the valley below.
The day began at Mountain View Turnout where their ceremony was held. Christina and Jonny wanted the first look to be down the aisle, so they arrived in separate cars to ensure they didn’t see each other. They flew out their hometown pastor to officiate their ceremony which was super special and he was a hoot. He started off by blessing them as they were back to back before the ceremony, and then we began the ceremony.
Karen from Sounds of Summit was playing the cello before and after their ceremony which is always a magical touch. Fun fact: Karen played the cello at Bill and Melinda Gates’ wedding!

Family and Group Photos
After the ceremony and lots of celebratory hugs we jumped into some family and group photos.
A pre-made photo list of all the groupings is a must and helps us move so much faster through family and group photos! This is something we always help our couples with and Matt helps wrangle people and get them on deck while Lauren shoots the photos.

A few bridal photos
After family and group photos we snapped a few bridal and individual photos of Christina and Jonny at Mountain View Turnout before heading to the next spot. The next spot is a pretty dang cool one!

Chapel of Transfiguration
From Mountain View Turnout the whole group headed to the Chapel of Transfiguration. This is a super cool, quaint chapel located in the National Park with views of the Grand Teton through the window. Don’t get your hopes up for having your ceremony here affordably, as it costs $10,000 to rent the church for a ceremony.
That being said, it’s still possible to go and take photos at the church on days other than Sunday and they turn out so cool!

Schwabacher Landing
After the chapel, we headed to Schwabacher Landing for some more photos of the group. The greens at Schwabacher in early Summer are so gorgeous!

Big Mountains, Little People
On the way to the next spot we pulled over to get some dramatic photos of the Tetons towering over Christina and Jonny. There’s a couple different spots throughout the park where it’s possible to get these photos that help show the scale of the mountains. It’s hard to understand their true scale and majesty until you see them in person!

One more stop before dinner
From there we were off to one more spot before heading to the dinner reception. Christina and Jonny wanted to go to Mormon Row which is a super popular spot and we’re not surprised! The vast field and the barns make for awesome photos and give a great “western” feeling.

Intimate Dinner Reception in Alpine
After Mormon Row we headed to their VRBO rental house in Alpine, Wyoming. This area is an awesome option for finding bigger, more affordable short term rental houses for lodging and dinner receptions. Christina and Jonny hired Chef Maggie of Artisan Chef to cater their dinner. Chef Maggie cooks the multi-course meal on location and it’s always mouthwateringly (is that a word?) delicious.
The group wined and dined on the covered patio as a storm rolled through and the sun began to set. It was a beautiful, intimate setting. They also treated us to the meal as well, which we were extremely grateful for!
After dinner they cut their cake and made things officially official by signing the marriage license.

Sparkler first dance
Christina had a vision for the first dance and the group made it happen! She wanted to walk down a tunnel of sparklers and then have the group form a circle around her and Jonny as they did their first dance. It turned out super cool and there were also fireworks from other people going off throughout the whole valley below. All of the guests had a blast using the sparklers too.
What an incredible day for the entire group and we’re so grateful that they got to come out to experience the Tetons and have a special experience together! Congrats to Christina and Jonny, may their marriage be filled with boundless adventures and laughs!
