Hanna and Chris had an incredible ending to their elopement day that they had been hoping and wishing for! The Tetons were covered in clouds the entire day and these two were crossing their fingers and hoping that they would show themselves at some point. They got what they wished for and it was an absolutely spectacular moment that we’ll never forget!
Now rewinding to the beginning of the day… they were staying with their families at an awesome VRBO house in Teton Village. The village is in a great location and offers some massive houses for short term rentals. We arrived at the house they were staying at mid-day and captured them getting ready before we hit the road to the park. Hanna’s mother helped her get ready while her father steamed her vail. Talk about a super team! Hanna and Chris also helped get each other ready which is always super cute.

Quick Pit Stop
On the way to the ceremony spot, we made a quick pit stop in the park to grab a few family photos and couples photos with fall colors. The base of the mountains were also more visible from this spot, so in case they never fully came out later in the day we wanted to at least get some with the base visible.

Ceremony Time!
After the pit stop we bounced over to the ceremony spot and got ready to roll. There was a massive storm cloud quickly approaching us from the North and we knew that we had to get the ceremony under way quickly.
Since the Tetons weren’t visible at all, we offered Hanna and Chris the option of doing the ceremony facing the other way so the Snake River and some fall colors were visible. They elected to do this option and we got the ceremony started! They exchanged personal vows and Hanna’s father handed off the rings and then we pronounced them husband and wife before they sealed the deal with a first kiss.
As soon as the ceremony wrapped up the storm hit us with gale force winds and sideways snow. We hopped in the cars to get warm and made a game plan for the rest of the evening.

Fall Colors
We decided to take Hanna and Chris to a spot that had immaculate fall colors that we could utilize since the storm was still covering the Tetons. The spot also happened to be just outside of the storm which was super nice! Having a photo and video team that knows the area like the back of their hand pays off big time! There’s many days that we make day-of gametime decisions based on weather and lighting that will help our couples have a better experience. On our way to the spot we saw a few other couples and their photographers in spots without fall colors getting pounded by 50 mile an hour winds and sideways sleet. No thanks!

Insane Sunset
As we were leaving the spot with fall colors it started to become apparent that the storm clouds might blow off the Tetons within the next 30 minutes. We booked it to a spot that would have a great view of the mountains and sunset, and crossed our fingers. As we arrived to the spot the clouds cleared and freshly snow-covered Tetons revealed themselves. Hanna and Chris were jumping up and down with excitement and it’s one of the coolest wedding-day moments we’ve ever seen.
Earlier in the day there seemed to be a 0% chance that the mountains would come out but we kept telling Hanna and Chris to keep their hopes up becomes sometimes the Tetons just find a way. And on this day they found a way. Hanna and Chris took in the moment and we snapped some epic photos and videos of them as the sun set.
Once darkness fell we said our goodbyes and well wishes to them before they made their way to dinner with their families. What an insane day for these two and we’re so happy that they got to see the mountains come out on their day! Congrats to Hanna and Chris, may their marriage be filled with boundless adventures and laughs!
