Madilyn and Dylan got a wee bit unlucky with the weather on their day but we still made the most of it and it made for some gorgeous photos! And legend has it that rain is good luck on your wedding day…
We decided to push their timeline up a couple hours to try and beat the incoming rain storm and it ended up paying off big time. They were able to have some Tetons in the background of their ceremony just in time before the rain hit.
They were getting ready at their rental condo in the Aspens, which is one of our favorite neighborhoods in the Jackson Hole area. It has a good mix of condos and houses and is in a great location.
They chose to not do a first look, so they ended up helping each other get ready which is always really cute. Madilyn helped Dylan get dressed and put on his boutonniere and then Dylan helped Madilyn get into her dress and put on her extravagant cowboy boots.

Ceremony at Blacktail Ponds
Once Madilyn and Dylan were finished getting ready, we made the jaunt over to Blacktail Ponds Overlook. We could see the storm chasing us in the rear view mirror and we were starting to be very glad that moved up the schedule!
Matt ended up officiating their ceremony which is something we’ve started offering couples free of charge for their elopement. Lauren shoots photos during the ceremony when Matt officiates, and we both shoot photos if someone else officiates.
Madilyn and Dylan exchanged beautiful vows, exchanged rings, and then Matt pronounced them husband and wife right as the rain began to fall!
After the ceremony was over they took in the moment and the Tetons for a few minutes before we moved on to the rest of the day.

Glacier View Turnout
From the ceremony location we hopped over to Glacier View Turnout for some photos. The rain had begun to fall harder, so we busted out the clear umbrellas to keep Madilyn and Dylan dry and warm.
You never know what you’re gonna get in the Tetons in the Fall, so we always make sure we have our umbrellas on us! Luckily the rain would come and go so when it wasn’t raining they would ditch the umbrellas for a little bit.

Schwabacher Landing
From Glacier View, we headed to Schwabacher Landing for some more photos. The fall colors at this location in late September are impeccable! Even though the Tetons were now fully tucked away and it began to rain harder it was still gorgeous thanks to the fall foliage.

Cascade Canyon Turnout
After getting some lovely shots at Schwabacher we headed to the inner park loop for some more variety. We decided on Cascade Canyon Turnout, which is a super cool spot that has a unique view of the Tetons. It also helps you get closer to the mountains on a day that they’re covered, so you can at least see the base of the mountains.

Mormon Row
While we were at Cascade Canyon, the rain continued to fall even harder, so Madilyn and Dylan decided to just get a few more photos at Mormon Row before heading back to their condo for some cake and some beer.
They originally wanted to do cake and beer in the park, but at this point some warmth sounded really nice to them and we can’t blame them!

Cake and Beer at the condo
After wrapping up photos at Mormon Row we all headed back to their condo in the Aspens for some cake, beer, and to dry off.
They said their cake was really yummy, but then they slightly regretted having beer right afterwards… seems like chocolate cake and Coors Light aren’t a great mix lol! Once they finished up some of their cake we chatted with them for a bit before saying our goodbyes.
Their day wasn’t exactly what they were expecting but they handled it like champs and still made the most of it. After all, a laid back day to be fully present with each other and still see the Tetons for part of it, along with some incredible fall colors was still hard to beat! Congrats to Madilyn and Dylan, may their marriage be filled with boundless adventures and laughs!
