Miranda and Brandon had the perfect mix of family time and private time on their wedding day! The ceremony and everything leading up to the ceremony was spent with family and then we went off with just the two of them so they could be fully present with each other for the rest of their time in the National Park.
They were staying at a VRBO rental house near Alpine, Wyoming. The Alpine area is a more affordable lodging option, especially if you’re housing a bigger group. The place these two were renting with their loved ones was massive and even had an attached garage with a pickle ball court!
We arrived mid-morning and Matt captured Brandon getting ready while Lauren captured Miranda getting ready.

First Looks with dad and her crew
Once Miranda was finished getting ready she did a first look with her father and her girl squad. Her father’s jaw literally dropped when he saw her and it was so adorable! Her girls were all blown away as well and a few of them couldn’t help themselves from tearing up!

Off to the ceremony!
After the first looks we all made the trek to the Wedding Tree for the ceremony. It’s a bit of a drive from the Alpine area but the considerably lower lodging costs can certainly be worth it!
Once we made it to the Wedding Tree we got everyone set up where they needed to be and had Brandon turn around because he was going to see Miranda for the first time as she walked down the aisle. Once everyone was in place we gave her the thumbs up and she began her walk down the aisle and Brandon turned around to finally get a look at her!
The ceremony was precious and the air was so still. One reason the Wedding Tree is the most popular option for our couples is the privacy that it allows compared to in the National Park. It’s quite tucked away and hardly anyone every goes up there other than getting married. Someone would have to really go out of their way to be disrespectful during a ceremony at the tree and we’ve thankfully never had it happen!

Family and Group Photos
After the ceremony was over everyone gave big hugs all around and they got the marriage license signed to seal the deal!
After letting them celebrate and enjoy we hopped into family pictures and a picture of the whole group. The group picture is always one of our favorites from the day! You’ll be so glad you have this photo 10, 20, 30 years down the line.

Cake and champagne
After family photos the group hit the road to town and we stayed back with Miranda and Brandon for the rest of the afternoon to capture more photos and do private vows.
They decided to have a moment to relax and take it all in by having some cake and champagne while sitting on a blanket at the tree. This was such a wonderful idea and something we highly recommend everyone considers! It’s so important to have time for just the two of you on your day. Wedding days are a blur, and the best way to slow them down is to dedicate some time to be still and relax.

Couples photos at the tree
After their picnic we snapped a few photos of them at the tree before moving onto other spots for private vows and more photos.

Private vows and epic photos
From The Wedding Tree we drove to our favorite spot for dramatic photos of the mountains and they exchanged heartwarming vows with each other before we grabbed some wall-hanger photos of them. Wedding photos don’t get much better than this!!

Schwabacher Landing
From there we headed to Schwabacher Landing for a few more photos. Schwabacher is such an awesome spot if you want water and trees in your photos! It was mid-September and the fall colors were just starting to show themselves. If you’re wanting fall colors on your trip your best bet is Mid-September through the end of the first week of October!
These two had so much fun and interacted naturally with each other which always makes for a more enjoyable day and the best possible photos. We never want couples photos to feel like a rigid, unfun process so we do our absolute best to make things fun and make it easy to interact naturally with your partner!

Mormon Row
From Schwabacher we headed to Mormon Row for the last set of daytime photos before they headed to dinner in town with their group. After dinner they met us back at Mormon Row for some night photos. About 20 minutes before they arrived for the night photos we were fortunate enough to witness some absolutely spectacular northern lights that appeared out of nowhere over the Tetons.
We were able to capture a few epic photos of the northern lights before they arrived. We were so sad that Miranda and Brandon had just missed seeing them!! By the time they got there you could no longer see the lights with the naked eye but our cameras were still able to pick them up faintly which still made for some awesome photos. We snagged some photos of them before saying our goodbyes and well wishes.
What an incredible day with such lovely humans! Congrats to Miranda and Brandon, may their marriage be filled with boundless adventures and laughs!
