Rachel and Ben had about as activity-packed of an elopement day as you can possibly have! It was an absolutely jaw-dropping day in Mid May. The Tetons were shining in all their glory and these two were ready to get after it and seal the deal at Taggart Lake.
We arrived at their hotel room at Mountain Modern Resort and they were both in high spirits and ready to tackle the day. Autym (one of our absolute favorites) finished up Rachel’s hair and makeup and then Rachel and Ben helped each other get ready.

Flower detour and first look
Once Ben finished getting ready him and Matt headed to Albertsons because Ben wanted to pick out flowers for Rachel.
After a quick search he spotted the perfect bouquet and then him and Matt headed to the antlers to get ready for a first look with Rachel. They had a super cute first look under the antlers and Ben gave her the flowers (she loved them obviously!)

Taggart Lake hike
After a few quick pictures under the antlers and in front of the Cowboy Bar we headed to the Taggart Lake Trailhead to get ready to embark on our hike up to the lake.
We only saw a couple other people on the trail up (one of which was a woman that was super excited for them which was very cute). Luckily for these two most of the snow was gone by then so the hike was smooth sailing. May can be super hit-or-miss with snow on the ground that high up.

Ceremony
Once we made it to the lake Rachel did some last minute touch-ups to her makeup and then they climbed up on the infamous rock to begin their ceremony.
After some touching personal vows exchanged amongst themselves we pronounced them husband and wife and they had quite the impressive dip first kiss.

Epic couples photos
We let them take in the moment for a little bit and then snapped some epic pictures of the two of them before making our way back down to the trailhead.

Jenny Lake
The newlyweds refueled with a couple snacks once we got back to the cars and then it was off to Jenny Lake for some cake and a couple more photos. The lake was gorgeous with the snowy mountains on the opposite shoreline and there wasn’t another soul around. One of the biggest perks of May is the lack of people. It can be the calm before the tourist storm that is June.

Mormon Row first dance and frolick
As the sun began to dip at Jenny Lake we headed further from the mountains to chase the last little bit of light. One of our favorite spots for this is Mormon Row, because it’s one of the last spots in the park that has light in the evening and the open field is gorgeous at that time of day.
Rachel and Ben had an adorable first dance in the big open field and took in the Tetons as they swayed. Moments like these never fail to give us goosebumps!!
After their first dance they frolicked a little bit in the field which made for some awesome action shots.

Cowboy bar and pizza
Believe it or not, but these two still had energy to keep going! We headed to the Cowboy Bar where they had shots on the saddle barstools. They asked if we wanted to sit on a bench in the town square and split a pizza from Pinky G’s which is a no-brainer “yes!”.
After indulging in Pinky G’s in the square we said our goodbyes and wished them well. Getting to go on these mini adventures with couples on one of the best days of their lives lights our hearts on fire and we’re so grateful that we get to do what we do!
Congrats to Rachel and Ben, may their marriage be full of boundless adventures and laughs!
