Brett and Sidnie started their elopement day with hopes of clear skies, but the weather had other plans. Raindrops fell against the windows of their charming cabin, situated 20 miles east of Stanley, as we arrived to photograph their special day. While Sidnie was nervous about the possibility of obscured mountain views, they got ready with anticipation, determined to make the most of their special day no matter what the weather looked like.

Drizzly First Look
As we drove into Stanley, Brett and Sidnie’s spirits lifted when they arrived at Stanley’s Pioneer Park for their first look. A glimpse of the slightly visible mountains brought smiles to their faces, along with seeing each other for the very first time in their wedding attire. You could not wipe the smile off these two’s faces, it was so freaking cute!

Lakeside Ceremony in the Downpour
After some waiting around to see what the weather was going to do, we all ultimately agreed to head to Stanley Lake for their ceremony with the hopes of having mountain views. Brett and Sidnie exchanged heartfelt vows in a private area on the eastern shore of Stanley Lake surrounded by their family and friends. It poured rain their whole entire ceremony, but you could also still see the mountains, making it even more memorable for them. The weather seemed to only enhance the beauty of their ceremony, as they laughed and cried while the rain soaked them from head to toe. They finished their time at the lake with some family portraits and a few couples portraits as the sun began to shine again.

Pioneer Park Picnic
Returning to Pioneer Park to utilize the covered picnic area, the group indulged in a picnic from Stanley Supper Club, (the most delicious restaurant in Stanley), and dined on cheeses, champagne, and cake to commemorate the occasion.

Redfish Lake Relaxation
It’s really important for our elopement couples to get some one on one time together on their elopement day when they invite their families, so we started our trek over to Redfish Lake. They originally wanted to paddle board, but since they were soaked from the rain, they opt’d for some hammocking and fishing instead. They relaxed together as the sun went down before they loaded up for their final adventure of the night.

Lantern Photos
Once the sun was down, we started our journey off to a dirt road that overlooks the Sawtooth Mountains. Unfortunately there were not any stars visible in the sky because of all of the clouds, but it made the sky look very moody and unique while they explored the area and took in the final views of the Sawtooths.

We had a blast with these two and we’ll never forget their day and the downpour during their ceremony. They were absolute champs about the rain and embraced it fully. Congrats to Brett and Sidnie, may their marriage be filled with boundless adventures and laughs!
