Whimsical Two Day Micro-Wedding at Colter Bay Swim Beach

Kaitlin and Henry planned the most epic weekend for their friends and family in Jackson in August. The summer of 2024 was one of the hottest summers we’ve experienced in the Teton Valley, but the weather ended up being perfect for their special day.

A Rehearsal Brunch at Corbet’s Cabin

Kaitlin and Henry thought it would be a great idea to bring everyone out to JACKSON HOLE MOUNTAIN RESORT on an adventure the day before their wedding…. to get waffles! CORBET’S CABIN is a historic cabin at the top of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort that serves drinks and waffles, perfect for a pre-hike snack! It was a beautiful day at the top of the mountain, and the waffles were a tasty treat! Pro-tip…. make sure to buy your tickets to ride the tram up ahead of time online to save money! We saw three moose from the tram on the way up.

Getting Ready

The beauty of having their ceremony at Colter Bay Swim Beach meant they could get lodging at the COLTER BAY CAMPGROUND AND CABINS, which is only about a 5-minute drive from the ceremony spot! This allowed for a very easy commute to and from their ceremony location, and also helped them make the most out of their coverage as well!

First Looks

Most couples nowadays are opting for a first look with their parents and bridal parties in addition to their partner. The first looks on this day were so precious, and many tears were shed.

Wedding Ceremony at Colter Bay Swim Beach

As we made our way to the ceremony spot, we set up the guests where they needed to be for the ceremony. It was a pretty busy Saturday afternoon at the beach, meaning we would be photoshopping lots of people out of the background of photos. If you want more privacy, we highly recommend considering this spot in the early morning and late evening in the summer, or pushing your wedding back into October once the temperatures cool. Kaitlin and Henry knew that the beach would be crowded, but even then they said they truly couldn’t imagine having their wedding anywhere else, as Colter Bay was one of their favorite places in the world and they knew since the first time they visited together that it was where they wanted to tie the knot.

Wedding Photos in Grand Teton National Park

While their friends and family started to head over the Teton Pass to prepare the reception in Tetonia, we headed to SCHWABACHER LANDING to grab some more couples photos with Katilin and Henry. There wasn’t a single other person there, and it was truly such a beautiful way to finish our time in the national park!

Reception in Tetonia

After a quick drive over the Teton Pass, we arrived at the house all of their guests were staying at in Tetonia. They were able to rent a tent and create a reception set up with music and a dancefloor! The property had a beautiful view of the backside of the Tetons as well. They had a delicious dinner, heartfelt yet also hilarious “toasts”, and tons of really fun dancing. We finished the night star gazing back at Kaitlin and Henry’s teepee Airbnb before we went our separate ways!
