Krissi and Drew knew they wanted to get married in Grand Teton National Park. As soon as the national park opened up applications for permits, they submitted their permit for Schwabacher Landing. This is one of the most sought-after locations within the national park for wedding ceremonies. Lucky for them, their application was approved for a mid-week ceremony at this iconic spot!
Getting Ready in Driggs
Krissi and Drew got ready separately at their beautiful Airbnb in Driggs, ID and made the trek over Teton Pass for their first look at Blacktail Ponds overlook. It was one of the most emotional and adorable first looks we’ve gotten to capture; you can tell these two love each other so much!
First Look at Blacktail Ponds Overlook
Blacktail Ponds is an amazing first look spot. It has a perfect view of the Tetons with a creek below the overlook. It’s close to the main highway in a great centralized location, and it’s a private spot. Drew broke down as soon as he turned around and saw Krissi.
Ceremony at Schwabacher Landing
SCHWABACHER LANDING is a hard ceremony spot to beat. It’s right on the water and the Tetons are framed by beautiful pine trees. It was the perfect spot for Krissi and Drew to have a private, intimate ceremony. On our way out we found someone to sign off on their marriage license as a witness. This wonderful woman had gotten into a car accident earlier in the day, and she said that asking her to be the witness for Krissi and Drew made her feel a lot better after a tough day!

Hike to Taggart Lake
After their ceremony it was time for a hike and a picnic at TAGGART LAKE. Taggart lake is the perfect spot for couples wanting to integrate a hike and picnic into their elopement day. The hike is around 3 miles round trip and follows along a beautiful creek for a while and then opens up to a stunning Teton view in the second half. There’s rarely anyone at the lake in the evening, so it’s a perfect way to have a relaxing end to your day. Krissi and Drew enjoyed some cake, champagne, and their first dance at the lake with the Grand Teton towering over them.
We came across a moose on our hike up to the lake and when we were at the lake a mother moose came down to the water with their baby right near us. They were so close we had to back off and give them some space for a bit! You never know what you’re going to experience when you have your elopement in the park.
